Time Line

Pin up's have existed since the beginning - Nude paintings, drawings and early photographs

40's and 50s brought pin ups begin sent overseas to the soldiers to remind them what they were fighting for. Cheesecake as it was called, was painted on noses of airplanes as well as decorating magazines and lockers. Pin ups were both the "girl next door" and movie stars.

1949 Tom Kelley paid Norma Jeane Baker $50 to pose nude on a velvet background

1051(approximately) Sold one of the pictures from that shoot to a calendar company.

1953 Hugh Heffner bought rights to publish one of the calendar shots in the first issue of Playboy as the centerpiece.

1955 Bettie Page is playmate of the month. Bettie poses are more "raw" than her counterpart Marilyn.

1954 Bettie works with Photographer Bunny Yeager in Miami - Playboy buys one for $100

1969 First Issue of Penthouse Was Published.

1971 Liv Lindeland , Miss January was the first Playmate to expose her pubic hair.
